A few servers are running a beta of a possible change to PR for .9

No rally points. I checked out Al Basrah....and I couldn't take it. Hope you like running. Korangel....lol spend 20 min to get to outpost only to be takin out by rpg's on the mountain. Our medic was the 1st one to get killed and his kit was...well it was not there. 2 guys were able to survive. But at this point what were they to do...now they were not part of our squad anymore, cause the rest of us were busy with the base campers and just trying to get out. People were rage quitting left and right.

I like teamwork but I think this might kill the gameplay.

Wow. That is not going to be popular. Right now the single most important thing a SL can do is drop a rally. But I can see the idea at work here - to get further away from vanilla, where a player just waits 15 seconds and re spawns right on his SL or at the rally of his choosing. We are currently addicted to having a convenient place to re spawn! The idea they are promoting here is to place FBs rather than rallys. They up the limit on Fire Bases to five on the map. It should be workable, except on a map like Faluja West there are not that many areas to place a FB where it will not be discovered quickly - think 64 players... So the "Great Insurgent FB Hunt" is on!

Well I hope rallys stay Crazy. I've played the beta a little more and I did have a couple good rounds....great teamwork! But thats only because it was TG. I also got frustrated a few times and left game. I think most of it has to do with map design, which sucks cause that means a couple of my favoite maps could/should go away.

It does encourage different squads to work together mostly, but it feels like the rounds are going on longer.

I also had a good round on TG, I was driving a technical and not flipping, until I got kicked for a supporting member. But before that, Stooby and I had played TG on the beta, and it was a mess. The squads were spread out like non-beta times on our team, while the other team had 2-4 squads working together. Needless to say, we got overran very fast. Don't know if it's for the average player.

EDIT - You do not have to download anything to play it, it's all serverside.

TBH, i think it's already written in stone.

They could just have limited the RP usage but removing them is too much.

I don't like this idea at all. Yeah it might aid game play but now the whole game will be about who can build the fire base that no one can find, and less about cache hunting.(at least for Insurgency) I can see how this might aid AAS game play but I think it will hinder insurgency. I think they should make it to where servers can choose if they want to implement this system or not. This will also hurt the team if you have a "fire base" squad that wants to build ub3r l33t bases with Mg's and wire, that's like putting a sign over it that says WE ARE OVER HERE!! The new insurgents goal is to camp firebase's not to defend the cache...
and really its like joot put it "i have arma 2 to walk a million miles and then die"
it could put more fear into dieing. I can see how it could be good and bad but right now the bad is wining for me. Confused

Come one TeRROR just think, with all the time your saving by not playing as the server is empty, you could easly do a Bas#3 or Night map it. Wink

they are putting rally points back in the game but can only be there for 30 seconds before they are gone Surprised
